Import data from Airtable, Google Sheets, Excel, CSV, or another Zite workspace. For other apps Zite integrates with, such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Notion, or Stripe, the workspace chat copies the records for you. First, choose where the records should go.

Moving from another tool?

The migration hub also helps you move business systems from tools such as:
  • Apps and portals: Airtable Interfaces, Softr, Glide, Bubble, Retool, and AppSheet.
  • CRMs: Salesforce, HubSpot, and Attio.
  • Work management: Monday, ClickUp, Asana, and Trello.
  • Automations: Zapier, Make, and n8n.
Choose your tool and follow the steps shown. Depending on the source, you can provide recordings, screenshots, or an export to help Zite rebuild your screens and workflows. Bring over the underlying data and test the rebuilt system before switching your team over. See Migrate to Zite for the full process. If your tool isn’t listed, choose Something else in the hub.

Import into a new workspace

Choose your source

Open Migrate to Zite and choose Airtable, Google Sheets, Excel, or CSV.You can also reach this page from New workspace → Migrating to Zite? in the organization sidebar. From inside a workspace, open its name and select All workspaces first.

Select the data

Upload your file, or connect your source account and select the data to import. For a new workspace, you can upload up to 20 CSV files at once; each becomes its own table.

Review and import

Check the table names, field types, and any warnings in the preview. Then confirm the import.For Airtable, review fields that will be copied as fixed values or skipped. See Migrate from Airtable for the full walkthrough.
An import copies data into Zite. It does not keep the source and Zite continuously in sync. Check the completion summary for skipped items or records that exceeded your limits.

Import into an existing workspace

To add a table, open the workspace’s Database, select + beside the table tabs, and choose a source under Import from: CSV, Excel, Airtable, Google Sheet, or Another workspace. Review the destination and preview before confirming. On an empty database, select Import data instead. It opens Add data to your database, with the same sources and Other apps. For CSV records going into an existing table:
  1. Open the destination table and select its ⋯ menu.
  2. Choose Import data → CSV and upload one file.
  3. Match the file’s columns to the existing fields. Include only the columns you want to import.
  4. Review the mapping, then import.

CSV imports into an existing table add new records. They do not match and update existing records. Importing the same file again can create duplicates.

Import from another app

Use this for apps without their own importer, such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Notion, or Stripe. The workspace chat connects the app and copies the records into new tables.

Choose the app

In Database, select + → More sources…. On an empty database, select Import data → Other apps.Search, or browse by type, such as CRM and support or Payments and accounting. If your tool isn’t listed, type its name and select Import from followed by that name, or choose Something else.

Say what to bring in

Under What should we import?, describe the records you want. For example: Contacts and companies updated this year. This is optional; if you leave it empty, Zite asks once it has looked.Select Start import.

Finish in the chat

A new chat opens with your request, shown as Import from and the app’s name. Zite connects the app if it isn’t connected yet. For a tool without a Zite integration, it asks for an API key. It then checks what the app holds and asks which records to bring in where that isn’t clear.Zite creates matching tables, adds linked-record fields between related records, and copies every record over. It asks before adding records to a table you already have, and it doesn’t build or change apps.
App imports run in the workspace chat. If the chat is busy with a reply or waiting for your answer, the dialog explains why and offers Open chat. Finish there, then start the import. Airtable and Google Sheets keep their own importers, described above.

Check the result

Before your team starts using the imported data:
  • Compare record counts: Check the completion summary against your source.
  • Check field types: Look at dates, amounts, select options, and leading zeros in reference numbers.
  • Open linked records and files: Confirm that relationships and attachments came across as expected.
  • Test your business process: Recheck calculations, forms, apps, and workflows that use the imported tables.
Imports support up to 250,000 records per import, subject to your available plan capacity. Check Billing & Usage before a large import.

If an import stops

For background imports, follow progress in the workspace. You can close the tab while the background import runs. Other import dialogs may need to stay open; follow the message shown. If Resume import appears, use it to continue the same import. If Zite asks you to reconnect the source account, reconnect first. Review any partial data before starting a separate import.
