Use a copy to test changes or reuse a business system for another client.

Duplicate a table in the same database

  1. Open Database and select the table.
  2. Open … (Table options) beside its name at the top.
  3. Select Duplicate table. Zite creates and opens the copy.

Copy a table from its menu.

The copy includes the table’s fields, views, and records. Use Rename table to give it a useful name.
Links to other tables still point to records in those tables. Duplicate the workspace if you need a separate database for a client or test system.

Duplicate an entire database

In a new workspace, duplicate the workspace to copy its database:
  1. Open the workspace’s Overview, select … (Workspace options) beside its heading, and choose Duplicate.
  2. Enter a New name and choose the apps and forms to include. The database is always included.
  3. Turn on Copy database records to include existing data. Leave it off to start with empty tables.
  4. Select Duplicate, then open and check the copy.

Leave records off to reuse the structure as a template.

Copy version history is optional. Turn it on only if you also need earlier app versions. Check connected accounts and workflows before using the copy. Still using a classic workspace? Choosing Duplicate on a standalone database takes you through workspace migration first. Then duplicate the new workspace.

Copy a table to another database

Export the table as CSV, then import it into the destination database. Check the imported field types and links: a CSV carries values, not the full table setup. For a complete workspace handover, see Duplicate, export, and import workspaces.
