Asana helps teams organize projects and tasks. Connect it to build intake tools, task views, and progress dashboards. App visitors use the Asana account you connect without connecting their own accounts. With this integration, you can:- Find projects and tasks available to the connected account
- Create tasks in a project
- Update task details and assignees
- Mark tasks complete
- Show project progress in a custom dashboard
How to integrate Asana into your app

Connect to Asana
Ask Zite to connect Asana, or click + in the chat box, select Integrations, then choose Asana. Sign in to Asana and approve access to the workspace you want to use.

Describe your use case
Tell Zite which workspace and project to use. For example, “Show tasks from our Client onboarding project and let account managers update the assignee and mark tasks complete.”

Test and publish
Create a sample task, change its assignee, and mark it complete. Check the result in Asana and confirm the app shows the intended project.Click Publish in the upper right corner when the workflow works as expected.
Common use cases
With Asana, you can create apps like:- Project Dashboards: Show tasks and progress by project.
- Request Intake: Turn requests into Asana tasks.
- Onboarding Checklists: Track tasks for each new customer.
- Workload Views: Show assignments for your team.
Important notes
- Connected account: Your app acts through the Asana account you connect. Set app access and permissions so users see and change only the information intended for them.
- Choose the right project: Include the workspace and project names, especially if similar names exist in several workspaces.
- Task lists: Tell Zite whether to show a project’s tasks or an individual’s tasks in a workspace.
- Completion: Marking a task complete keeps it in Asana; it does not delete it. Check whether your app hides completed tasks.
- Connection problems: If access is revoked or the connection stops working, reconnect Asana and test a sample task.
