How it works
ChatGPT is an AI assistant you can connect to your Zite workspace. Use the Zite plugin to ask about your data and make changes from a ChatGPT conversation. To add AI features for visitors inside a Zite app, use the OpenAI integration. By connecting ChatGPT, you can:- Find your Zite workspaces, tables, and fields
- Search and filter records using plain-language requests
- Summarize records and calculate totals
- Add records or update existing ones
- Create tables and fields for your business data
How to integrate ChatGPT into your app

Connect to ChatGPT
Open Zite in ChatGPT’s plugin directory, sign in if needed, and follow the installation prompts. Connect your Zite account and review the requested access before approving.Start a new chat and ask ChatGPT to use Zite.

Describe your use case
Name the workspace, table, and result you want. For example, “In Sales operations, count all Deals records and summarize the total value by stage without changing anything.”Before an update, ask ChatGPT to show the matching records and proposed changes.

Test and publish
Start with a read-only question and compare the result with your data in Zite. Data changes are saved directly; you don’t need to publish an app to query or update records.If you also use ChatGPT to change an app, review and test it in Zite before publishing.
Common use cases
With a ChatGPT connection, you can work on tasks like:- Sales Briefings: Summarize open deals by stage or owner
- Support Reviews: Find unresolved tickets and group them by priority
- Project Check-ins: List overdue tasks and their owners
- Record Updates: Find a customer and review a proposed status change
- Database Setup: Add a Priority field with your team’s preferred options
Important notes
- Data and app building: Data access is available on every Zite plan. Building and publishing apps has separate plan requirements, including what happens after a trial ends.
- Credits: Building through ChatGPT uses no Zite AI credits; your AI tool’s limits apply. App Usage still applies when people run the resulting app.
- Missing workspaces: Check the Zite account and workspace access for your connection. See connection settings to review or reconnect it.
- Complete results: For reports, ask for a count or summary of all matching records. A returned list may contain only part of a large table.
- Review changes: Check the target workspace and records before approving updates. Create a backup before a large change.
