How it works

Anthropic makes Claude, an AI model for working with text. Connect Anthropic to add an assistant, draft replies, or summarize information inside your Zite app. App visitors don’t need their own Anthropic accounts; your app uses the connection you set up. By connecting Anthropic, you can:
  • Draft replies, proposals, and other text from user input
  • Summarize the text of reports, notes, or conversations
  • Categorize feedback and support requests
  • Apply instructions such as your team’s tone and preferred format
  • Show answers as they’re written in a chat interface

How to integrate Anthropic into your app

1

Connect to Anthropic

Ask Zite to connect your app to Anthropic. Alternatively, select + in the chat box, then Integrations → Anthropic.Choose Use Zite’s Account on a paid Zite plan, or Custom API Key to enter a key from your Anthropic Console. If you’ve connected before, choose a saved account or Connect new account.
2

Describe your use case

Tell Zite what information Claude should use and what it should produce. For example, “Draft a customer reply using their message and our support guidelines, then let a teammate review it before sending.”Include any rules for tone, length, or format.
3

Test and publish

Test several realistic requests and review the answers. Ask Zite to adjust the instructions if the result is incomplete or unsuitable.Select Publish in the upper-right corner when the feature works as expected.

Common use cases

With an Anthropic connection, you can create apps like:
  • Reply Drafters: Prepare customer replies for a teammate to review
  • Report Summarizers: Turn long text into key points and next steps
  • Feedback Sorters: Organize suggestions into categories your team uses
  • Proposal Writers: Draft proposals from project details
  • Internal Assistants: Answer questions using guidelines supplied by your app

Important notes

  • AI inside your app: This connection powers Claude features for app users. To work on Zite from a Claude conversation, see MCP & Agents.
  • Zite’s account: Requires a paid Zite plan and is billed by usage. Overage charges may apply.
  • Your own key: Usage is billed to your Anthropic account and follows its limits. Check that account’s billing and available usage if requests stop working.
  • Shared connection: Activity from all app visitors uses the connection you chose.
  • Information and models: Tell Zite which records or guidelines the feature should use. Ask it to choose a supported Claude model for the task, then test the results with your own examples.
